The Point A Kensington hotel is a good value accommodation option within walking distance to most points of interest in Earls Court and Kensington.
Point A operate a small chain of budget hotels that are priced slightly higher than other budget chains such as ibis budget, Premier Inn and Travelodge. Some of the hotels in the chain used to be part of the Malaysian Tune Hotels group but rebranded in early 2017.
The 104 air-conditioned hotel rooms all have comfortable Hypnos beds, a small work desk, a flatscreen television and an en suite bathroom with a power shower. Like other Point A hotels, the rooms are compact but they are well designed to make the most out of the small space. Some of the rooms do not have windows, although these windowless rooms are a cheaper option for the budget-conscious.
Rooms do not have tea and coffee making facilities, although you can buy tea and coffee at the reception desk (or from local cafes). Like many other hotels in this price range, there aren’t any ironing facilities inside the rooms but you are able to borrow an iron and ironing board from the hotel reception.
There is also a breakfast area near the reception where you can have breakfast for an additional charge.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The hotel is located on busy Cromwell Road, just a few minutes’ walk from a large Tesco supermarket within easy walking distance to the centres of both Earls Court and Kensington. From here is a seven-minute walk to Earls Court tube station and an eight-minute walk to the shops of High Street Kensington and a 13-minute walk to the Olympia Exhibition Centre.
Several tourist attractions are also within easy walking distance and it is a 10-minute walk from the Design Museum and Kensington Palace, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Albert Hall are not much more than a 20-minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel’s proximity to Earls Court Tube station (on the District and Piccadilly lines) means that you can quickly get to other areas of London. From here you can get to South Kensington in four minutes, Kings Cross St Pancras in 20 minutes, Piccadilly Circus in 12 minutes and Westminster in 13 minutes. The Piccadilly line also serves as a direct link to Heathrow Airport with a journey time of around 35 minutes.
