Portsmouth International Port

Portsmouth International Port is a major gateway for travel between the UK and Europe. Located around 1.6km (1 mile) north of Portsmouth’s city centre, it handles passenger and freight services to France, Spain and the Channel Islands.

The ferry port has a history dating back to the 1970s, when it was developed to support growing demand for cross-channel ferry travel. Portsmouth has long been a key maritime city, and the ferry port continues this tradition. Over the years, it has expanded to accommodate larger vessels and increased passenger numbers. Today, it is one of the busiest ferry ports in the UK, serving millions of travellers annually.

Brittany Ferries and Condor Ferries run services from the port with services to multiple destinations, including Caen, St Malo, Cherbourg and Le Havre in France, as well as Bilbao and Santander in Spain. The Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey are also accessible via regular crossings.
