The Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel is a large hotel close to Heathrow Airport Terminals 2 and 3 which offers a high standard of accommodation and many of the rooms feature brilliant runway views.
It is a large five-storey hotel with 710 guest rooms. All rooms are air-conditioned and have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Executive rooms are larger than the standard rooms and have a separate living area as well as access to the executive lounge (which has complimentary food and non-alcoholic drinks). Nine of the rooms are wheelchair accessible.
Rooms have a tasteful contemporary decor which gives the impression that they were recently renovated and the hotel’s exterior has also recently undergone a thorough overhaul.
There are brilliant runway views from many of the rooms although the triple-glazed windows aren’t enough to block out the noise of departing planes.
The Market Garden restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner (it is not open at lunchtime). The hotel also has a cafe, Cafe Cha, and a bar, Bar Eleven. If you’re at the hotel around lunchtime you can have lunch in the bar (which also serves dinner). There are a few other dining options within walking distance (at neighbouring hotels) but for the best selection simply hop on a free bus to Terminals 2 and 3.
The hotel also has a fitness centre with a gym and massage treatments.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
It is the closest hotel to Terminals 2 and 3 but it is not possible to walk to the terminals as road access is via a tunnel that is off-limits to pedestrians. However, there are frequent free bus connections that will get you to Heathrow Central Bus Station (for Terminals 2 and 3) in under 10 minutes.
You can also take the Hotel Hoppa bus to the airport terminal but this bus is more expensive at £5.50 (£6 if you buy your ticket on board the bus) for a one-way trip and these buses run less frequently than the regular buses.
The Bath Road location is not a particularly interesting neighbourhood but there are several places to eat and drink nearby including the Three Magpies pub as well as the bars and restaurants in the nearby Novotel and Radisson Blu hotels. In most instances, you’re better off catching a bus either to the airport terminal or to somewhere more interesting such as Longford village near Terminal 5.
The hotel has a large car park with space for 700 cars (£15 per night) although the hotel has accommodation and parking bundles that offer better value.
