Scarborough railway station lies at the eastern terminus of the North TransPennine route and the northern terminus of the Yorkshire Coast Line. The station has hourly rail services to Leeds, Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Victoria and York and trains every two hours to Bridlington, Filey, Hull and Sheffield.

Buses and coaches stop on Westborough outside the station including the Coastliner 843 bus to Leeds (via York) and the X93 bus to Whitby and Middlesbrough.
National Express coaches also depart from here with a direct service to London, stopping en route in Hull, Scunthorpe, Leicester and Milton Keynes.
