Snoozebox Olympic Park is a budget hotel constructed from shipping containers. The rooms are well designed and staying here is much nicer than you would expect.
The hotel’s 78 guest rooms are all air-conditioned and have comfortable beds, a flatscreen television and en suite bathroom. At only 7.2m² (77 sq ft), the rooms are small but they are also well designed to make the most out of their limited space and there are handy storage options built into the beds including a slide-out shelf that doubles as a work desk.
Although the in-room facilities are rather limited in comparison to many other hotels, there is also a social area where you will find the hotel reception, a cafe bar and an outdoor terrace.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
It is located south of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford in East London. The immediate vicinity surrounding the hotel is a former industrial area that is in the process of being redeveloped into a residential area. The neighbourhood is a mix of modern blocks of flats, vacant former industrial land and construction sites where the vacant land is being redeveloped into more modern blocks of flats.
At this stage, there are not many places to eat and drink in the immediate area but it only takes a few minutes to walk to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (where there are a few cafes) and Stratford High Street is only a few minutes in the other direction, although it is around a 15-minute walk into the centre of Stratford. The main points of interest in the immediate vicinity are Abba Arena, a purpose-built theatre/stadium built for the Abba Voyage concert experience that runs five nights a week, which is right across the road from the hotel as well as the ArcelorMittal Orbit and West Ham’s London Stadium, which are both around a 10–15-minute walk from Snoozebox.
The hotel is right across the road from Pudding Mill Lane DLR station, which is on the Stratford to Poplar branch of the DLR, just one station below Stratford. It is an 11-minute ride from Canary Wharf with trains running every six minutes, Stratford is a two-minute ride in the other direction. You will need to change at either Stratford or Canary Wharf if you’re going into central London but this is made up for by the convenience of having the station across the road from the hotel.
Car parking is available for £1.99 per night, making it a great option if you’re driving and want to stay close to central London.
