Visiting the Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum
The Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum is on the grounds of the former Royal Air Force Manston, inland from the main towns on the Isle of Thanet. It is 3.5km (2¼ miles) from Margate, 7.25km (4½ miles) from Broadstairs and 6.5km (4 miles) from Ramsgate.
The former RAF Manston is also home to the RAF Manston History Museum, which is only a two-minute walk away, and many people visit both museums on the same day.
The museum is not served by public transport so it’s best suited if you’re driving.
The museum is open daily and admission is free of charge.
