Sydney House Chelsea is a lovely small four-star hotel set in two Grade II listed converted Georgian townhouses that are around midway between Chelsea and South Kensington.
It is a charming place to stay with only 21 air-conditioned guest rooms on seven floors. All rooms have comfortable Vispring beds, a writing desk, a flatscreen television and an en suite bathroom with a powerful shower. While the building dates from the 19th century, the rooms have a clean modern decor.
The Room at the Top is the best room in the house, with a private rooftop garden offering lovely views of South Kensington and Chelsea.
As it is a relatively small hotel, there are not a lot of common areas within the hotel other than a small lounge in the lobby and a room in the basement where breakfast is served. Although the hotel does not have its own restaurant, there are plenty of other places to eat and drink nearby.
It is not suitable for disabled guests.
The hotel is located on a residential street around midway between Chelsea and South Kensington. It is an affluent neighbourhood that is a lovely place to wander around.
