The Lighthouse

It is a relatively large complex for a 10-room B&B and it is comprised of several buildings set on 12.15ha (30 acres) of parkland that includes a children’s play area, a Japanese garden, a wildlife pond and a fishing lake.

The main building is a 17th-century house and there is also accommodation in the former stables and in the barn. The main building is home to the Piano Room Lounge, which is a lovely quiet space where you can relax in front of a log fire.

Rooms types include a single room, double and twin rooms and a more spacious family suite. Classic double, twin and family rooms are in the former stables, the superior rooms are in the main house and the family suite is in a converted barn overlooking the courtyard.

All rooms include comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.

A buffet breakfast is included in your room rate. Breakfast is served at Cafe Nouveau, which also serves meals and drinks throughout the day.

The Lighthouse also includes conference facilities and guests have free access to the indoor swimming pool across the road.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the complex.

The Lighthouse is located in a rural setting around 3.25km (2 miles) south of the town centre. Despite being surrounded by countryside, there is an indoor swimming pool across the road and a local pub (The Fox) just a two-minute walk away and you can walk to the Sainsbury’s supermarket on the southern outskirts of Frome in less than 20 minutes.

Free parking is available and it is only a six-minute drive into the town centre so it’s best suited if you’re driving; however, it is possible to walk into the town centre in around 45 minutes (or you can walk 20 minutes to Sainsbury’s and catch the D2 Discover bus the rest of the way).
