The Old Bell Inn is a 500-year-old coaching inn in the heart of Warminster’s town centre.
Dating from 1483, The Old Bell is one of Warminster’s oldest pubs and it offers accommodation in 15 guest rooms above the pub. All rooms have comfortable beds with tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. The room decor is fairly dated with patterned wallpaper and curtains and, as it is an old building, there are low ceilings and many of the floors are uneven.
In most cases, the price of your accommodation includes breakfast, which is served in the pub downstairs.
The pub is a proper traditional pub with bags of character. It serves a range of Wadworth’s ales and it has a menu that includes pizza, jacket potatoes, burgers and other pub classics.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the establishment.
Generally, the Bath Arms across the road is a better place to stay (at a much better price) but the pub at The Old Bell Inn has a better atmosphere.
The Old Bell Inn is on Market Place in the town centre. Most points of interest in Warminster’s town centre are no more than a five-minute walk away. The location is perfect if you’re travelling by public transport as the railway station is only a five-minute walk from the hotel. However, most people visit Warminster as a base for excursions to Longleat, which unfortunately is not accessible by public transport. This means that you’ll need to take a taxi (or rent a car) to visit Longleat House and Longleat Safari Park.Free car parking is available, making this a handy place to stay if you’re driving.
