Travelodge Bath Waterside

Travelodge Bath Waterside is a good value accommodation option on the waterfront near the junction of the River Avon and the Kennet and Avon Canal and it is only a short walk from Bath Spa station and the city centre.

Rooms at the Travelodge Bath Waterside are a mix of double, twin and family rooms. All rooms include comfortable king-size beds (except twin rooms, which have two single beds), a television, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a shower.

In addition to standard rooms, this hotel also has SuperRooms, which are a bit like a premium economy room aimed at business travellers that don’t have the budget for a traditional business hotel. These rooms cost more and are bigger with a larger desk, more power points, a better shower and a Lavazza coffee pod machine.

It is more modern and much nicer than many other Travelodge hotels. It also has a small lounge bar/cafe in the hotel; however, there are better options for eating and drinking within easy walking distance from the hotel.

Unlike most other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.

Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive staying here during peak periods although in most cases this hotel is a cheaper alternative to more centrally-located hotels.

The hotel is located a short walk southeast of the city centre in a lovely waterfront setting at the spot where the Kennet and Avon Canal meets the River Avon. Bath Spa station is only a five-minute walk along a riverfront footpath and most points of interest in central Bath are no more than a 15–20-minute walk from the hotel. There is also a small local shopping street (Widcombe Parade) just a couple of minutes walk away, which has several nice pubs and other places to eat and drink.

Car parking is available for £6 per 24-hour period, which is quite a good deal considering how close the hotel is to the city centre.

There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
