Travelodge London Clapham Junction

The Travelodge London Clapham Junction hotel is an affordable accommodation option next to Europe’s busiest railway station. It is less than 10 minutes from central London with around one train every minute.

Travelodge London Clapham Junction has recently been updated to feature Travelodge’s new interior design, which makes this hotel a step above the average Travelodge.

All the rooms at the Travelodge London Clapham Junction are double rooms. All rooms include comfortable king-size beds, a television, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a shower.

In addition to standard rooms, this hotel also has SuperRooms, which are a bit like a premium economy room aimed at business travellers that don’t have the budget for a traditional business hotel. These rooms cost more and are much bigger with a larger desk, more power points, a better shower and a Lavazza coffee pod machine.

There are also some wheelchair-accessible rooms available.

Unlike most other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.

Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive staying here during peak periods although in most cases this hotel is a cheaper alternative to more centrally-located hotels.

This Travelodge is right in the centre of Clapham Junction with lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby.

It is right around the corner from Clapham Junction railway station (in zone two). Based on the number of trains that stop at the station, Clapham Junction is considered Europe’s busiest railway station with over 120 off-peak services every hour including 22 trains per hour to London Victoria and 35 trains per hour to London Waterloo. The station also has direct trains to Brighton, Exeter, Hampton Court, Milton Keynes, Portsmouth, Reading, Salisbury and Windsor and Eton. It is only a short trip from here to central London with the journey to London Victoria taking as little as six minutes and the trip to London Waterloo taking only 11 minutes.

Although there is no parking available at the hotel, the nearby ASDA supermarket has a car park that is free for up to two hours and £10 for 24 hours.

There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
