Kings Cross is not the most attractive part of central London but it has improved a lot in recent years and there are plenty of places to eat and drink in the immediate vicinity.

There are several attractions within walking distance including the London Canal Museum, the Foundling Museum, Charles Dickens Museum and the Postal Museum, which are all within a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is less than a 10-minute walk to Kings Cross and St Pancras railway stations, where you can catch trains to the East Midlands, Yorkshire and Scotland plus high-speed trains to Kent, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Kings Cross St Pancras tube station, which has six tube lines plus Thameslink trains so you can get to most areas of central London without changing lines. The Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines all intersect at Kings Cross St Pancras and although not a tube line, Thameslink trains make several stops in central London, which make it a quick route to the City and London Bridge. From Kings Cross St Pancras it takes four minutes to take the tube to Oxford Circus and Thameslink trains will get you to City Thameslink (near St Paul’s Cathedral) in six minutes.

There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
