Travelodge London Snaresbrook

The Travelodge London Snaresbrook is near Wanstead in East London and it is only 20 minutes into the city on the Central line.

There are also some wheelchair-accessible rooms available.

This is one of the older Travelodges and it is not as nice as newer hotels in the Travelodge chain. However, this hotel does get favourable reviews from other travellers who are generally happy with the standard of accommodation for the price.

Unlike many other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.

Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive staying here during peak periods although in most cases this hotel is a cheaper alternative to more centrally-located hotels.

This Travelodge is in a quiet neighbourhood with a Toby Carvery restaurant next door but there is a tube station around the corner and the busy Wanstead High Street, one of the nicer shopping streets in east London, is just a short walk from the hotel.

It is only a three-minute walk to Snaresbrook tube station (in zone four) on the Central line, which has trains into central London every five minutes. From here it is a 20-minute trip to The City and eight minutes to Stratford. If you’re planning on staying here during summer it is important to note that the Central line is not air-conditioned and on a hot day it is considered one of the less pleasant tube lines to travel on, although on a cooler day it is a good quick route into to the heart of London.

There is free parking at this hotel making it a good option if you’re driving but spaces are limited.

There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
