The Village Hotel Maidstone is a suburban hotel near junction six of the M20 motorway. It is a good place to stay, although the location means that it is best suited if you’re driving.
The hotel’s guest rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, ironing facilities and an en suite bathroom with a rainfall shower.
The Village Pub & Grill is the hotel restaurant and although it certainly doesn’t have the cosy atmosphere that you would normally expect from a place that calls itself a pub. The hotel also has a branch of Starbucks coffee plus a co-working space.
The hotel is noted for its excellent fitness centre with a 20m (65 ft) heated swimming pool, a spa pool, steam room and a sauna. Access to the gym comes at an additional £5 charge but it is free if you’re a member of the hotel’s loyalty programme.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Members of Booking Revolution (Village Hotels’ loyalty programme) get free access to the gym facilities, co-working space and the car park, which otherwise come at an additional charge.
Village Hotels is a chain of hotels located mainly in suburban locations on the outskirts of large UK towns and cities. They have a more upmarket image than most other suburban hotels.
The hotel is on the northern outskirts of Maidstone, just off junction six of the M20 motorway and within walking distance to Kent Life (only a six-minute walk away). Although it isn’t very centrally located, the hotel has a pleasant location surrounded by parkland and the grounds back onto the River Medway.
The hotel’s location means that it is best suited if you’re driving. It is only a six-minute drive from the town centre and the bus route that stops outside, bus route 29, is infrequent with only one service per day. If you want to get here by bus you can take the more frequent Sapphire 101 bus (the Gillingham to Maidstone route) and get off at the Esso petrol station and then walk the remaining 10 minutes to the hotel. You can also walk the entire way from the town centre, which is a very pleasant 45-minute walk along the banks of the River Medway.
