Warwick Castle Knight’s Village is a unique accommodation option that is part holiday camp and part glamping experience.
It is operated by Warwick Castle and, as such, it is very close to the castle and your accommodation package also includes admission to the castle via a priority entrance that allows you to avoid the queues at the main gate. The priority entrance gets you into the castle grounds near the Peacock Gardens and the Conservatory.
It is a spacious complex by the banks of the River Avon with accommodation in either lodges or glamping tents.
The semi-detached Woodland Lodges are designed to accommodate a family of five with a separate parent’s room with a double bed and a children’s room with a set of bunk beds (with a pull-out bed below the bottom bunk). There is a television inside the parent’s bedroom as well as tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. The lodges also have their own private outdoor terrace.
The Knight’s Lodges are larger with accommodation over two storeys and they sleep up to seven. This includes a mezzanine floor with an open-plan lounge and a sofa bed. It is a great option for larger families.
The glamping tents are surprisingly comfortable. They are spacious tents with a wooden floor, a big four-poster bed plus two single beds as well as an outdoor area with two thrones. However, guests staying in the glamping tents need to use a shared bathroom facility.
The Medieval Banquet Hall is the Knight’s Village’s dining option. Breakfast (included in the cost of your accommodation) is served here in the morning and during the evening it becomes an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant.
Although it is no problem to nip into the town centre for dinner, the Medieval Banquet Hall is definitely the most convenient option. However, the food here is nothing special.
The medieval theme can feel a little tacky at times but it is popular with children and it really extends the Warwick Castle experience. There is medieval-style entertainment at the restaurant and there are also other medieval-themed activities within the Knight’s Village including archery. The entertainment and activities on offer make this a great option if you’re travelling with children.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the complex.
It is the more affordable of the two accommodation options that are operated by Warwick Castle. Like the more expensive Warwick Castle Tower Suites, the Knight’s Village room rate includes added extras including free parking, breakfast and a second days admission to the castle. Between these two accommodation options, the Tower Suites is a luxury option that is best suited for couples and the Knight’s Village is a more low-brow option that is a better option for families with children.
