The Cathedral Hotel is a central accommodation option right in the centre of Salisbury. It is not the greatest place to stay and it could be better maintained but the location is excellent.
It is a small hotel with 22 rooms arranged over four floors. The rooms all have comfortable king-size beds, a TV, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.
It is an older building but the rooms have contemporary decor, although they could be better maintained. Although the rooms have double-glazed windows some guests report being kept awake by noise from the street below, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights.
The hotel’s public areas mainly comprise the bar and lounge, which includes some outdoor seating in a garden courtyard. The bar and lounge has a pub-style menu but it lacks the atmosphere of pubs elsewhere in the city centre.
The public areas of the hotel are air-conditioned but the rooms are not.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available in the rooms and in the public areas on the ground floor.
The Cathedral Hotel has a great location in the heart of the city centre with plenty of shops and places to eat and drink on your doorstep. It is just around the corner from the Market Place and the tourist information centre and it is only a five-minute walk to the Cathedral Close and all the sights within the Close (such as the Salisbury Museum and the cathedral) are less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The railway station is a 12-minute walk away.Check prices and availability for The Cathedral Hotel
