Chelsea Cloisters is a 10-storey block of flats that is home to 670 apartments and 300 of these are part of the Chelsea Cloisters apartment hotel. The apartments are split between studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, which all have comfortable beds, a flatscreen television, a work desk/dining table, a self-contained kitchenette with a microwave, a hob, tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge as well as a washing machine, ironing facilities and en suite bathroom.
The self-contained nature of the accommodation means that it is a good option for families and for longer stays.
Internet access is not included in your room rate and is fairly expensive at £10 for 24 hours or £27 for five days, although the £40 30-day rate is more reasonable.
There are also two on-site restaurants and two bars, which include an Argentinian restaurant and a Japanese restaurant as well as Barts, a 1920s-style speakeasy that has become a Chelsea institution and is noted for its quirky decor.
Chelsea Cloisters gets mixed reviews and some guests complain that the furnishings could be better maintained.
It is on Sloane Avenue in fashionable Chelsea with a good choice of interesting places to eat and drink in the immediate area. There are also several attractions within an easy walking distance including the South Kensington museums (the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the V&A), which are just over a 10-minute walk away and the National Army Museum, the Chelsea Physic Garden, Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park are all within a 20-minute walk from the hotel.Chelsea Cloisters is around a seven-minute walk from South Kensington tube station and it is around a 12-minute walk from Sloane Square station. South Kensington (on zone one on the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines) offers excellent transport connections into central London with trains running every two to six minutes. From here, it takes nine minutes to get to Piccadilly Circus, 10 minutes to get to Westminster, 11 minutes to get to Paddington station, 16 minutes to Kings Cross St Pancras and 40 minutes to Heathrow Airport.
