Clayton Hotel Leeds is a large modern four-star hotel on a busy road south of Leeds city centre.
The hotel has 334 guest rooms, which all have comfortable beds, a flatscreen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a bathtub and a power shower. Executive rooms also have a small fridge, a coffee machine, premium TV channels plus a bathrobe and slippers. Standard rooms are 23m² (247 sq ft) and superior and executive rooms are 25 m² (269 sq ft).
Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available in all three room categories.
The Inkwell Bar is the hotel’s bar/restaurant and it has a better atmosphere than you would expect from a modern business hotel. The menu is comprised mostly of casual dining options such as burgers, curries and pizza.
All guests have access to the hotel’s fitness centre.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The hotel is located in Holbeck, an inner-city neighbourhood that has a lot of new office and residential developments. Although the neighbourhood may initially seem a little bland, a lot of people live and work in the immediate area and there are a few good places to eat and drink nearby, although they are not always easy to find.
It is not far from the city centre and you can walk to the railway station in just 10 minutes, although many points of interest in central Leeds are around a 20-minute walk from the hotel.
It is a popular option for business travellers who are looking for a four-star hotel with car parking and easy access to the motorway network, whilst still being close to the city centre. However, parking costs £13.50 per night and there are better-located hotels elsewhere in Leeds if you’re travelling by public transport.
