Leeds railway station

Leeds Station is the busiest train station in the north of England and England’s second busiest station outside London (after Birmingham New Street).

It is the terminus of the Leeds branch of the East Coast Main Line and an important stop on the CrossCountry network linking Scotland with southwest England. Leeds is also an important hub for rail services across Yorkshire.

From Leeds, there are six trains per hour to York; four trains per hour to Bradford Interchange, Harrogate, Manchester Piccadilly and Sheffield; two trains per hour to Bradford Forster Square, Ilkley, Liverpool Lime Street, London King’s Cross, Manchester Victoria, Newcastle and hourly trains to Birmingham New Street, Exeter, Hull, Lincoln, Middlesbrough, Nottingham, Scarborough. There are also eight trains per day to Carlisle via the scenic Settle–Carlisle line and trains to London St Pancras via Nottingham.

It is a major station with 17 platforms – more than any other UK railway station outside London – and it has all the shops, cafes and restaurants that you would expect from a major railway station including several pubs and branches of Boots the chemist, Caffè Nero, Camden Food Co., Delice de France, KFC, M&S Simply Food, McDonalds, Pret a Manger, Pumpkin, Sainsbury’s Local, Starbucks, Subway, The Pasty Shop, Upper Crust and WHSmith newsagents.
