The Crown Inn is a local pub in the north of Swindon that has accommodation in a purpose-built annexe. It is quite a good place to stay and the pub has a good atmosphere but other places elsewhere in Swindon offer better value for money.
There are 20 guest rooms at the Crown Inn. Each room has comfortable beds, a television, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom.
In most instances, the price of your accommodation includes breakfast, which is served in the pub.
The pub has a great atmosphere and also serves lunch and dinner alongside Arkells ales. The menu consists of the usual classic pub grub and the lunch menu also includes lighter meals such as filled jacket potatoes and tortilla wraps.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available although it does not extend to all the rooms.
There is not much of interest in the immediate neighbourhood other than an Aldi supermarket, a couple of hardware stores and two other pubs (the Rat Trap and the Wheatsheaf) within a five-minute walk. The Crown Inn is located around 4km (2½ miles) northeast of the town centre, which is around a 10-minute drive or a 20-minute bus ride. It is also possible to walk into the town centre is just under an hour. Stagecoach bus route 7 runs every 12 minutes or so making it reasonably easy to get to if you don’t have a car, however, it is best suited if you’re driving as it has free on-site parking and easy access to the A419 road out of Swindon.
