The Crowne Plaza Liverpool John Lennon Airport Hotel, formerly the Marriott Liverpool South Hotel, is set inside Liverpool Airport’s original terminal building and aviation enthusiasts will enjoy staying in the historic airport terminal.
The Art Deco terminal building was featured in early television news footage, with Beatles fans waiting to see the band return from tour. The building has also featured on the cover art of the Oasis single, Don’t Go Away.
The building lay dormant for 10 years after Liverpool Airport’s new terminal building opened in 1986. It was later adapted as a hotel, which opened in 2001. The building’s aviation heritage has been maintained, with several historic aircraft on display on the former apron, including a BAe Jetstream 41, a Bristol Britannia 308F, a Hawker Siddley HS 748, and a Percival Prince.

All rooms have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Six of the rooms are set up for guests who need wheelchair access.

The hotel has a bar and a restaurant specialising in Liverpudlian cuisine.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Hotel guests can use the gym and swimming pool at the adjacent David Lloyd Leisure Centre, which is located inside one of the airport’s former Art Deco hangers.
The hotel also has business facilities including a 24-hour business centre with copying and printing services plus 12 meeting rooms, the largest with a capacity of 280.

Despite being located inside the airport’s old terminal building, it is actually not particularly close to the airport and the new terminal is now around a 40-minute walk (or a six-minute bus ride) from the hotel. Despite being a fair distance from the airport, it is just a short walk to a large retail park that includes a multiplex cinema complex as well as cafes, restaurants and shops.
The bus stop on Speke Road, between the hotel and the retail park, has regular bus services with bus routes 86A, 86D and 500 going to the airport.
Free on-site parking is available for guests staying at the hotel but non-guests are charged £6 per 24 hours.
