DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Piccadilly

This modern upmarket hotel has 285 guest bedrooms and each room comes with a comfortable bed, a flat-screen television with Sky Sports channels, a mini-fridge, a desk, ironing facilities and en-suite bathrooms with Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. Some of the deluxe and superior rooms also have Nespresso coffee machines. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a neutral colour palette and feature floor-to-ceiling windows. Some rooms, particularly those on the higher floors, have lovely city views.

Some wheelchair-accessible rooms are available.

All areas of the hotel have free Wi-Fi wireless internet access.

The Store Street Exchange is the hotel’s ground-floor restaurant, which has a railway-inspired decor and is noted for its steaks and rotisserie chicken. The adjoining Store Street Craft Bar is a more casual spot to enjoy a drink (or two) with a menu that includes lighter meals like sandwiches, burgers and tapas as well as British pub classics. The hotel is not on Store Street and the bar and restaurant are named after Store Street railway station, the original name for nearby Manchester Piccadilly railway station.

All guests have access to the hotel’s fitness centre, which has views of the Station Approach road to Manchester Piccadilly station.

You can’t go wrong booking the DoubleTree by Hilton. It is a very nice hotel with a high standard of accommodation and a very central location, but it lacks the wow factor of some of Manchester’s other hotels in the same price range.

The hotel has a convenient location with Canal Street, the Arndale Centre, the Central Retail District and the Northern Quarter all within a 10-minute walk. It is only a three-minute walk to Manchester Piccadilly railway station.
