easyHotel Liverpool City Centre

The easyHotel Liverpool City Centre is one of the cheapest places to stay in central Liverpool.

Starting at just 10m² (107 sq ft), the rooms at the easyHotel are very small but they are big enough for a double bed, a television and a small en-suite bathroom. However, there’s no room for a desk and there’s no wardrobe, just a couple of coat hangers stuck to the wall below the TV.

The rooms are too small for tea and coffee making facilities, but there is a machine at the reception area that serves horrible tea and coffee.

It is very clean and has a bright modern decor, although not everyone is a fan of the bright easyJet orange.

The easyHotel chain is run by the same people who operate easyJet and it is run on much the same lines as a budget airline. Rooms are priced according to the same yield management pricing strategy where rooms are cheap if you book well in advance but more expensive if you book in the peak season or leave things to the last minute. Initially, the hotel also priced extras like a budget airline, with additional charges for a lot of extras that would normally be free at other hotels; for instance, an additional charge to rent the remote control for the telly or for wireless internet access. However, most of those extras that were previously charged for are now included in your room rate.

As long as you don’t add on all these optional extras, the easyHotel is one of the cheapest places to stay in Liverpool. However, the cheap beds sell out quickly and once they have sold out the remaining beds are considerably more expensive. If you book well in advance to get one of the cheap rooms then the easyHotel is probably the cheapest private room in central Liverpool and it is preferable to the other cheap hotels in the city centre. You often need to book several months in advance to snag the cheapest rooms but it is still worth checking if you’re travelling sooner, particularly if you’re travelling in the quieter season.

There are a handful of wheelchair-accessible rooms and these are larger than the standard rooms.

The easyHotel Liverpool City Centre has a great location in the heart of the city centre. It is just a two-minute walk from James Street station and most other points of interest in the city centre are also close by including the Cavern Club and Magical Beatles Museum (both a three-minute walk), the British Music Experience, the Museum of Liverpool and the Royal Liver Building are a seven-minute walk away, the attractions of Albert Dock (including Tate Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum and the Beatles Story) are around a 12-minute walk away, as are Liverpool Lime Street railway station, St George’s Hall, the Central Library, the Walker Art Gallery and the World Museum.

In short, this hotel is a great value accommodation option. It provides the basics at a great price and the location is perfect. Just don’t come here expecting four-star (or even three-star) luxury.
