Gloucester Transport Hub

Rated 1.73 out of 5

Gloucester Transport Hub is the city’s main bus and coach station. It is a modern bus terminal with 12 bus bays, a ticket office, electronic departure screens plus public toilets and an on-site cafe.

The bus station is operated by Stagecoach who run most services, however, other bus and coach operators including National Express also use the facility.

Stagecoach operate local bus services as well as buses within Gloucestershire and to neighbouring counties. This includes buses to Cheltenham, Chepstow, Hereford, Ross-on-Wye and Tewkesbury.

National Express coaches go to Birmingham, Bristol and London.

The bus and coach terminal is around 150m (500 ft) from the railway station, which makes it a convenient hub for transport connections.

The Transport Hub was opened in October 2018, replacing the old Gloucester Bus Station on Market Place, which will be demolished as part of the Kings Quarter redevelopment project.

    Just down right awful

A few years old and falling apart already, no maintenance carried out. The face of Gloucester to visitors, what an embarrassment…..

    Appalling.

This is supposed to be welcoming people into Gloucester. What an embarrassment. Filthy walls outside filthy windows and sliding doors, one which hasn’t worked since last year!! Millions being spent just metres away, and yet this so called modern transport hub, only a few years old falling into disrepair! I have to add a rating…..

    Avoid at all costs

The staff are HORRIBLE. They clearly don't care about helping customers. The toilets are a disgrace and often are flooded or covered with toilet paper.

    Lost property

Really frustrated in attempting to contact the hub re a back pack left on a 97 bus during the working day. It really should be possible to speak to someone at that time but no local phone number

      Website

There is a webpage on the stagecoach app for this. if you look at their available bus passes, and click “where can i use this?” section it shows you a map where the cut off points are.

What a grim place to wait for a bus

My bus was cancelled so I had to spend an hour waiting and trying to find out what was going on. The departure boards gave incorrect information, the lady at the info desk didn't know but kept telling me it would be 15 minutes, and the Stagecoach app said nothing. Toilets mostly out of order, sliding doors to the buses bays not working, it was cold and bleak. Very third world.

    Without a clue?

Waiting for a bus and all i see are blank screens? The building and layout are vast improvements but customers need basic information and with the means to do it not being used it doesn't give a good impression.

    No phone contact

Why with such a new building and the availability of technology is there no telephone contact service available with the bus hub. It seems this is a way to force people onto your app and hence avoiding human contact. How is one experience speak with a representative of the bus hub for advice of there is no telephone contact service. It’s the 2021. Telephones are available. Purchase one.
