Best Western Henbury Lodge Hotel

The hotel is set inside a country house from the Georgian period, which is ideal if you like the idea of staying in a country house hotel but still want easy access to the city.

It is a relatively small hotel with only 22 guest rooms. All rooms have comfortable beds, a writing desk, a flatscreen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Both twin and double rooms are available.

The hotel has a traditional-style decor throughout, which is in keeping with the historic nature of the building; however, some guests may find it a little dated.

The hotel grounds include lovely gardens and the hotel has its own restaurant and bar. Blaise Restaurant is open for dinner Mon–Sat and has a menu of European-inspired dishes based on seasonal local produce and the bar serves Peroni lager as well as local Butcombe beers. It is a lovely spot to enjoy afternoon tea; however, afternoon tea must be booked in advance and there is a minimum of four people per booking.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available in the hotel’s public areas.

The hotel is located on the northern outskirts of Bristol not far from Blaise Castle Estate, which is less than a five-minute walk from the hotel. It is quite a nice neighbourhood, which has the feel of being in a historic country town. Although there is not a lot in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, there is a nice pub just a two-minute walk away (and it’s a five-minute walk to another) and there are a couple of small supermarkets within walking distance.

Local bus routes 1, 2 and 76 stop outside the hotel en route between Cribbs Causeway and Bristol city centre. The hotel is around a 40-minute bus ride from the city centre or you could drive into town in around half that time.
