Holiday Inn Express London Earls Court

The hotel is a fairly plain-looking six-storey building with 150 guest rooms, which all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Although it is not the most inspiring building, the hotel is clean and well maintained inside.

The Great Room is the bar and lounge near the hotel’s ground floor reception area where the Express Start buffet breakfast, which is included in your room rate, is served every morning. You can also enjoy lunch and dinner at the hotel’s bar/restaurant, which is open daily from 11am to 2am.

There is free wired internet access in all rooms, but Wi-Fi wireless internet access is only free for IHG Rewards members. It is free to join the IHG loyalty programme and free Wi-Fi is available to all members, even those on the entry-level tier.

The hotel is on North End Road in West Kensington. It is a vibrant neighbourhood with a good mix of local pubs sitting side-by-side with Asian and Middle Eastern shops and restaurants, although it lacks the polish of nearby Chelsea, Earls Court and Kensington.

There is not much in the way of tourist attractions within walking distance, other than Chelsea Football Club’s Stamford Bridge stadium, which is around a 20-minute walk away.

Both West Brompton and West Kensington tube stations are a seven-minute walk from the hotel and both Barons Court and Earls Court stations are a 13-minute walk away.

West Brompton and West Kensington stations are both on the District line and both have trains into central London running every five minutes; however, they lie on different branches of the District line with westbound trains from West Kensington going to Ealing Broadway or Richmond and westbound trains from West Brompton going to Wimbledon.
