The Holiday Inn London Heathrow Bath Road is a new hotel that shares a building with Staybridge Suites on the Bath Road hotel strip just north of Heathrow Airport.
The Bath Road Holiday Inn used to be a couple of doors up the road but that closed in 2015 (and was replaced by the Leonardo Hotel) with a brand new Holiday Inn opening at the beginning of 2019. Because it is so new, it simply feels nicer than many other hotels in the Holiday Inn chain.
Although the rooms are smaller than the adjoining Staybridge Suites hotel, they are nice and well equipped with a comfortable bed, a work desk, a flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. Executive rooms are a little bigger and have complimentary bottled water and bathrobes.
All rooms are air-conditioned. If you’re staying in summer, this is an important feature that you won’t find in many older hotels in the UK.
The hotel has its own in-house restaurant, Hi! Pizza, which serves modern Italian cuisine. It is one of the nicer restaurants along the Bath Road hotel strip with a lovely setting in the hotel’s atrium area.
There is also a fitness centre on the first floor that all guests have access to.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel. The internet seems pretty fast based on feedback from other guests.
Although it is relatively easy to get to Terminals 2 and 3 from here, there is really not much to do in the immediate area and the surrounding neighbourhood is not particularly charming as it is on a busy road with lots of hotels and other airport-related businesses. Apart from the in-house restaurant and the restaurant inside the nearby Leonardo Hotel, the only other dining areas nearby are a small Portuguese restaurant and the Three Magpies pub, which are both around a 10-minute walk from the hotel.
Access to Terminals 2 and 3 is through a tunnel with no pedestrian access so you need to take a bus to get to the airport. However, it is one of the closest hotels to Terminals 2 and 3 with direct buses running every few minutes.
Car parking is available but it costs £15 per night for guests (£25 if you’re not staying at the hotel).
