Hotel 55 is a small design-led boutique hotel in Ealing in West London, which is a reasonably affordable accommodation option as long as you don’t mind staying outside Central London.

It is a small unassuming hotel with only 29 guest rooms, each with comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities (including a Nespresso coffee machine) and an en suite bathroom with either a bath or a walk-in power shower.

Wheelchair-accessible rooms are also available.

The smallest rooms are only 9m² (97 sq ft) but they are also the best value, however, most rooms at the hotel range from 12m² (129 sq ft) to 19m² (204 sq ft). The suite and the deluxe garden studio are more spacious at 25m² (269 sq ft).

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel’s in-house lounge bar is a lovely spot to relax with a drink. The hotel also features Momo, a highly-regarded Japanese restaurant.

While there are cheaper places to stay in Ealing, Hotel 55 is relatively good value considering the standard of the hotel, particularly when compared with similar hotels in Central London.

This is a good option if you love staying in design-led boutique hotels and don’t mind staying outside Central London to save money.

The hotel is located in a leafy residential area with a nice shopping strip nearby that includes several places to eat and drink including the Greystoke pub.

It is only a 12-minute walk to the busy Ealing Broadway commercial area as well as Ealing Broadway station, which has TfL Rail trains to both Paddington station and Heathrow Airport.

If you don’t fancy the walk to Ealing Broadway, North Ealing tube station (on the Uxbridge branch of the Piccadilly line) is only a three-minute walk from the hotel. From here, there are trains every five minutes into central London with a journey time of less than half an hour to Piccadilly Circus.

Free car parking is available but spaces are limited. If the car park is full, there is a paid car park just around the corner near North Ealing tube station that is reasonably good value at £4.50 for 24 hours on weekdays, £2 for 24 hours on Saturdays and just £1.50 on Sundays.
