ibis budget London Barking

The ibis budget London Barking hotel is a good value accommodation option in Barking in East London. It is a much cheaper alternative to staying closer to the city centre.

The 130-room hotel has accommodation in basic rooms that have comfortable beds, a flat-screen television, a small work desk and an en suite bathroom. The hotel has double and twin rooms as well as triple rooms that are set up with a double bed with a single bunk above it. Some of the rooms are wheelchair accessible.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

Ibis budget is the cheapest and most basic of the three tiers of the ibis brand and some ibis budget hotels were previously branded as Hotel Formule 1. Hotels in the ibis budget chain follow a certain cookie-cutter approach with identical rooms within the hotel and from one hotel to another. It’s a budget hotel that does exactly what it says on the tin. There’s nothing fancy about ibis budget, but it delivers on its budget promise with rooms that are simple, clean and cheap.

Although the location facing the busy North Circular Road isn’t very appealing, the hotel backs onto the River Roding and the walk to Barking station takes you past modern blocks of flats and a nice park before you get to Barking’s busy suburban centre, which has plenty of shops and places to eat and drink.

It is located right next door to a big Tesco supermarket and it’s around a 15-minute walk to Barking station, which has around 30 trains per hour into Central London comprised of eight trains an hour to Fenchurch Street station and over 20 underground trains (District and Hammersmith and City lines). Trains from Barking take 18 minutes to get to Fenchurch Street station in The City and it takes 35 minutes to catch the tube to Westminster or Kings Cross St Pancras.
