Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Ibis budget is the cheapest and most basic of the three tiers of the ibis brand and some ibis budget hotels were previously branded as Hotel Formule 1 or Etap hotels. Hotels in the ibis budget chain follow a certain cookie-cutter approach with identical rooms within the hotel and from one hotel to another. It’s a budget hotel that does exactly what it says on the tin. There’s nothing fancy about ibis budget, but it delivers on its budget promise with rooms that are simple, clean and cheap.
Whitechapel is not the most attractive neighbourhood but it is a vibrant spot with its own charm with plenty of affordable eating options nearby and it is also easy to get to other parts of London from here. From the hotel, it is only a five-minute walk to vibrant Brick Lane and a 10-minute walk to Old Spitalfields Market and the Truman Brewery Markets.
You can also walk to the edge of the City of London in 10 minutes and many of the City’s top attractions are within a half-hour walk, including the Bank of England Museum, Guildhall Art Gallery, the City of London Police Museum, the Gherkin, the Monument, the Sky Garden, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and Tower Bridge.
Whitechapel station is a five-minute walk from the hotel. The station is in zone two and it is the only station where Underground trains run above Overground services. It is served by the District and Hammersmith & City lines and it takes six minutes to get to Monument and 17 minutes to Westminster with trains running every 3–4 minutes and six minutes to Liverpool Street or 15 minutes to King’s Cross & St Pancras International with trains running every 10 minutes. Whitechapel is also served by Overground trains on the former East London line with trains running every 3–4 minutes and the new Elizabeth line also runs through Whitechapel with frequent trains into central London and Heathrow Airport.
