ibis London Greenwich

The ibis London Greenwich hotel is one of the better-located hotels in Greenwich. It is a clean modern hotel in a vibrant part of London with good transport connections into the city centre.

It is a modern 120-bed hotel that is more design-focused than many other hotels in the same category but there are better value hotels elsewhere in London. The hotel’s rooms all have comfortable Sweet Beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.

The ibis has its own branch of Cafe Rouge, the French-style cafe chain. Even though this is a chain restaurant, it offers a great deal more character than your average budget hotel restaurant.

The hotel also has its own bar, which is a nice-enough spot for a drink although it lacks that charm of Greenwich’s many local pubs.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

Although it has a suburban location, the ibis London Greenwich is in the centre of a vibrant neighbourhood and there are enough points of interest to keep yourself busy for a full day.

Nearby attractions include the Cutty Sark, the Fan Museum, the National Maritime Museum and Queen’s House, which are all less than a five-minute walk from the hotel and the Royal Naval College, the Royal Observatory, Greenwich and Ranger’s House are less than a 10-minute walk away.

From here you can take either the DLR or the train into Central London. Cutty Sark DLR is the closest station (a four-minute walk from the hotel) and it is a six-minute walk to Greenwich railway station.

From Cutty Sark DLR station, it takes 21 minutes to get into Bank in The City with trains running every five minutes. You can also take the DLR to London City Airport (which involves a change of DLR at Westferry) in under half an hour.

However, the quickest way into Central London is by train from Greenwich station with trains to London Bridge running around once every 10 minutes with a journey time of between eight and 10 minutes.

Car parking is available but it costs £15 per day.
