Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront

The Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront (formerly the Jurys Inn Brighton Waterfront hotel) is not the most attractive hotel on Brighton’s seafront but inside it is a clean and well-maintained hotel offering a high standard of accommodation with lovely sea views. It is a more conveniently-located hotel than the other Leonardo Hotel near the railway station.

The modern concrete building looks a little out of place among the Georgian and Victorian-era hotels on Brighton’s seafront but don’t let that put you off as the accommodation is of a high standard. When Jurys Inn purchased the hotel from Thistle Hotels they invested £10 million in rejuvenating the property and both the rooms and the public areas are of a very high standard.

Inside there is a large atrium area where you can find the hotel’s main bars, restaurants and lounge area, as well as the hotel reception.

The hotel’s 210 spacious guest bedrooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en-suite bathrooms. Four of the sea view rooms are wheelchair accessible and there are also several larger family rooms that are ideal if you’re travelling with children.

Many of the rooms look into the atrium but around 20% of them have views of the English Channel and Brighton Pier.

Being a modern building, it was built with triple-glazed windows to block out noise from the street outside. Anyone who has stayed in one of Brighton’s older seafront hotels will know that this is a huge deal as central Brighton can get rowdy at night and most older hotels aren’t particularly soundproof.

It is much like many other modern four-star hotels and the ambience is nothing special, especially when compared with many of Brighton’s other high-end hotels that are either small boutique hotels or larger hotels in landmark historic buildings.

The Promenade Restaurant has lovely sea views and a bistro-style menu and there is a bar and plenty of comfortable seating in the atrium lounge area.

The hotel also has a gym and a small indoor swimming pool that guests are free to use and there is also Pecksniffs Pamper Studio that provides manicures, pedicures and spa treatments.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront has an excellent location right on the seafront and there are plenty of places to eat and drink within just a few minutes walk. The hotel backs onto The Lanes and is right across the road from the beach and the Brighton Fishing Museum. In less than 10 minutes you can walk to most points of interest in Brighton city centre including the Brighton i360, North Laine, Brighton Dome, Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, the Royal Pavilion, the SEA LIFE Centre and Brighton Palace Pier.

Secure on-site parking is available and this costs £21 for 24 hours.
