The Mercure Bridgwater Hotel is a centrally located four-star hotel around a three-minute walk from the centre of Bridgwater, Somerset.
The hotel has 119 guest rooms, which have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, ironing facilities, a small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.
The standard rooms are surprisingly small for a hotel of this standard and they start at just 9m² (97 sq ft), although Privilege rooms are a more spacious 25m² (269 sq ft).
The hotel’s Marco Pierre White Steakhouse has a meat-focused menu of modern British and European cuisine. The menu is overseen by celebrity chef Marco Pierre White and it offers a much nicer ambience than most other chain restaurants.
The hotel also has a nice lounge bar and a small gym.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
While Bridgwater has more accommodation options than you would expect in a relatively small town, most of its hotels are on the outskirts of town and cater more to motorists looking for somewhere to break their journey rather than travellers looking for somewhere central to stay in Bridgwater and this means that the Mercure is Bridgwater’s best option for a centrally-located full-service hotel, particularly if you’re travelling by public transport.
Although the immediate area around the hotel may not look that nice, things improve considerably once you cross the river after only a three-minute walk. From the hotel, it is a seven-minute walk to the Blake Museum and the Somerset Brick and Tile Museum is around a nine-minute walk away. It is an eight-minute walk from the railway station.
