Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel

The Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel & Spa is a modern four-star hotel near Battersea Park and Battersea Power Station and it is within walking distance to Victoria railway station and to Chelsea and Knightsbridge.

The hotel has 216 air-conditioned guest rooms, which all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen TV, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Some of the rooms have exercise bikes and five of the rooms are wheelchair accessible.

The hotel also has one- and two-bedroom suites, which offer better amenities and more space with separate living and sleeping areas. Guests staying in the hotel’s suites also have access to an executive lounge that has complimentary drinks and snacks.

The Atlantico bar in the hotel’s lobby area has an Iberian feel with a Portuguese and British influenced menu that includes a popular tapas buffet and an excellent selection of Portuguese wine.

Other facilities at the hotel include a business centre, a fitness centre, a wellness centre and a heated indoor swimming pool.

There is free Wi-Fi wireless internet access throughout the hotel.

The Portuguese hotel chain operates hotels on four continents but this is Pestana’s only hotel in the UK.

Although it is not right in the heart of London, there is a lot to keep you busy in the immediate area and even more of interest within a 20–25-minute walk from the hotel.

The Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel is part of the Chelsea Bridge Wharf development, which is actually in Battersea (not in Chelsea) although Chelsea is only a six-minute walk away and it is around a 20-minute walk to Chelsea’s main shopping areas on Kings Road and Sloane Square.

The immediate vicinity around the hotel is characterised by modern blocks of flats stretching from Battersea Park station to the River Thames. Battersea Park is on the other side of Queenstown Road and the newly developed area around Battersea Power Station is just 200m (700 ft) away, although the hotel is cut off from this area by a railway line, which means that it is around a 7–8-minute walk away.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby including bars and restaurants in the Chelsea Bridge Wharf development, in the Battersea Power Station development, within Battersea Park and across the bridge in Chelsea. There are also several points of interest within walking distance including the Chelsea Physic Garden and the National Army Museum, which are both less than a 20-minute walk from the hotel and within a 30-minute walk you can get to Harrods at Knightsbridge, the South Kensington museums and Buckingham Palace.

The closest tube station is Battersea Power Station, which is around a 10-minute walk away, although some guests make the 20-minute walk to Sloane Square tube station. It is also an eight-minute walk to Battersea Park station, which has direct trains to London Victoria and Clapham Junction. There are also regular buses into Central London departing from Queenstown Road.

The hotel has its own undercover car park but it is overpriced even for London.
