Shrewsbury railway station

Shrewsbury’s train station has trains to Aberystwyth, Birmingham, Cardiff, Chester, Crewe, Hereford, Holyhead, London, Ludlow, Manchester and Pwllheli. Trains calling at Shrewsbury railway station are operated by Arriva Trains Wales, Virgin Trains and West Midlands Railway and, interestingly for a station in England, it is one of the busiest stations on the Arriva Trains Wales network and an important station for changing between different Welsh lines.

Trains departing from Shrewsbury include two trains per hour to Birmingham, hourly trains to Cardiff, Hereford and Manchester and less frequent services to Aberystwyth, Chester, Holyhead, London and Pwllheli.

The station is a rather grand imitation Tudor-style building on Castle Gates north of the town centre. It has good facilities including a cafe on the platform.
