Shudehill Interchange (Megabus coach stop)

Rated 5 out of 5

Megabus coaches depart from Shudehill Interchange in Manchester city centre just north of the Arndale Centre.

The coach station is on the Metrolink tram network with trams running every 12 minutes and it is also served by the Metroshuttle free bus route 2, although it is centrally located so most places in the city centre are within walking distance.

The coach station has a cafe and newsagent plus toilets and an information point (mostly for information about local bus services).

Megabus is generally the cheapest intercity transport option with coach services from Manchester to destinations throughout the UK plus some international services.

Megabus services from Manchester include coaches to: Aberdeen, Aviemore, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Chester, Coventry, Dundee, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Inverness, Lancaster, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Oban, Oxford, Pitlochry, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Preston, Rugby, Sheffield and Southampton.

Shudehill Interchange is also served by buses operated by Arriva North West, Diamond Bus North West, First Greater Manchester, Stagecoach Manchester and Terravision (for Liverpool Airport). Most of these buses are local services within Greater Manchester although some of these bus services run further afield to cities in Lancashire, Cheshire and Merseyside including buses to Blackpool, Burnley, Liverpool Airport, Oldham, Preston, Stalybridge and Warrington.

It is best to book your tickets online

In most cases, you can't buy your ticket at the bus station and you will need to book your ticket online. However, there are some instances where you may be able to buy tickets from a self-service ticket machine or from Megabus staff. This is usually only the case on domestic services within Scotland or when travelling from Manchester Shudehill Interchange or London Victoria Coach Station. Even though you can buy your ticket at Manchester Shudehill Interchange, it is not recommended as Megabus fares are cheapest when booked in advance and walk-up fares are often considerably more expensive than booking online.
