Strawberry Fields is a small boutique hotel housed inside a pair of Victorian-era townhouses on New Steine in Brighton’s vibrant Kemptown neighbourhood.
It is a small hotel with 27 rooms that include comfortable beds, flat screen television and tea and coffee making facilities. Most rooms have en suite bathrooms but not all of them and there are a few rooms that have a shower but you need to use the shared toilet down the hall.
This hotel does not have any wheelchair-accessible rooms.
The hotel has a red and white colour scheme with lots of strawberries. There are paintings of strawberries, ceramic strawberries, strawberry cushions, strawberries embroidered on the hand towels. There are also cushions and pillows with love hearts printed or embroidered on them, although from a distance even they look a little like strawberries.
It is sometimes listed on other websites as a B&B and it is even called a B&B on their own website but it is not a B&B. While you can get a bed for the night here, the accommodation price does not include breakfast nor is breakfast available at the hotel. It is possible to order breakfast from a local cafe (Little Miss Piggies) to be delivered to your room but it is nicer to go out and eat at a cafe (Little Miss Piggies, Morris and Jacques and the Real Patisseries are nearby).
Strawberry Fields is just a short walk to shops, bars and cafes in Kemptown and it is just a few minutes’ walk to the beach, the western terminus of Volk’s Electric Railway, the SEA LIFE aquarium and Brighton Palace Pier. The city centre along with The Lanes, Brighton Dome, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery and the Royal Pavilion are all within a 10-minute walk of the hotel.
It can be good value if booked outside the main tourist season but there are better value places to stay in Brighton.
