The Met Hotel is a four-star hotel in a charming Victorian-era building. It is centrally located in Leeds city centre, just a short walk from the railway station.
The hotel was originally opened in 1899 as the Hotel Metropole and was renamed as The Met after a major renovation in 2005. It is a Grade II-listed building that is noted for its terracotta facade and for the cupola roof that was originally built for the fourth White Cloth Hall that previously occupied the site.
The hotel has 120 guest rooms, which all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. Standard rooms range from 15–21m² (161–226 sq ft) and superior rooms are 25m² (269 sq ft).
The Tempus Restaurant and Bar comprises both a lounge bar and a restaurant that serves classic British cuisine. The city centre location means that there are also plenty of other places to eat and drink nearby.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Like many hotels in historic buildings, there are some aspects that could be improved. However, it has plenty of charm and the staff couldn’t be more helpful.
The Met Hotel has a convenient location in the heart of Leeds city centre and it is only a three-minute walk from the railway station. There is a wide choice of places to eat and drink within a five-minute walk from the hotel and the city’s main shopping district is just a 5–10-minute walk away.
