Travelodge London Richmond Central

The Travelodge London Richmond Central hotel is an inexpensive place to stay in an expensive neighbourhood. It is well served by tube and rail services and you can get into central London in around 20 minutes.

This hotel also has Standard Room Plus rooms, which are an upgrade over standard rooms and include a pod espresso coffee machine and a nicer work desk and chair. These rooms are also located on the hotel’s quietest floor and include free Wi-Fi internet access.

There are also some wheelchair-accessible rooms available.

Unlike most other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.

Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive staying here during peak periods although in most cases this hotel is a cheaper alternative to more centrally-located hotels.

This hotel has a good location right in the centre of Richmond. It is a lovely neighbourhood with a lot of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs within walking distance of the hotel. It is just a seven-minute walk to the River Thames (which has some lovely riverside pubs) and Richmond station is also close by.

Richmond station (in zone four) is served both by the tube (the District line), Overground trains to Stratford and regular suburban trains to London Waterloo. There are 12 trains per hour to London Waterloo, the fastest of these will take you to Waterloo in just 20 minutes. The District line will take you to the South Kensington museums in 24 minutes.

Kew Gardens is just one stop north of Richmond (on both the District line and the Overground).

There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
