Travelodge Oxford Peartree

All of the rooms at this hotel are double rooms that include comfortable king-size beds, a television, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a shower. There is no air-conditioning, which may be an issue if you’re staying here during summer.

Unlike most other hotels in Oxford, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.

Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be much more expensive staying here during peak periods.

This Travelodge is on the northern edge of Oxford near the services at the Peartree Interchange. There is not much in the immediate vicinity except for a petrol station, a KFC, a Starbucks coffee shop and a small Waitrose. However, this hotel is usually a much cheaper option than staying in the city centre and the Oxford Bus Company’s park and ride 300 bus will take you into the city centre in 12 minutes. The bus fare into the city centre is £1.80 one-way or £2.80–3 return.

It is a seven-minute walk if you follow the path from the hotel to the park and ride bus stop even though it is only around 75m (245 ft) as the crow flies. Apparently, there is an unofficial path to the park and ride that has been cut through the hedge that should get you to the bus stop a little quicker.

Although there is plenty of on-site parking at this hotel it is not free and will cost you £4 for 24 hours.

Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
