Victoria Coach Station

Rated 3 out of 5

Most coach services in London terminate at Victoria Coach Station on Buckingham Palace Road. These include domestic coach services operated by Megabus and National Express as well as international coach services operated by BlaBlaCar bus and Flixbus.

Most coach services are comprised of National Express coaches to destinations throughout the United Kingdom, although Victoria Coach Station is also served by other domestic coach services including Megabus coaches to destinations throughout the UK.

Most international routes are operated by Flixbus. BlaBlaCar bus also operates international routes from Victoria Coach Station with services to Amsterdam, Brussels, Lille, Paris, Paris CGD airport and Rotterdam and Expressway Eurolines coaches go to Dublin.

You can also book international coach tickets through Eurolines, although you will most likely be sold a ticket for another coach operator such as BlaBlaCar unless you’re travelling to Ireland.

Some tour coaches also depart from here.

The coach station is set up like a small airport with departure gates where you wait for your coach, although the selection of restaurants and cafes within the coach terminal could be improved and you’re mostly limited to a branch of Pret a Manger or Starbucks. However, there is a choice of other places to eat and drink nearby, particularly along Elizabeth Street. It is a busy station with coaches arriving or departing every few minutes.

Although the coach station operates 24 hours, the ticket office (which sells tickets for most coach operators) is only open 8.30am–7.30am daily. Outside these hours you can buy tickets either online or from vending machines.

The Oxford Tube coach service to Oxford doesn’t stop at the Victoria Coach Station and instead stops at Grosvenor Gardens near London Victoria railway station. Green Line to Luton Airport and Windsor also do not use this station and instead stop nearby at the Green Line Coach Station.

I’m a local. This info is out of date

I’m a local and I use VCS about three times a week. Eurolines are no more. They went bust a few years ago. There is one service twice a week to Ireland carrying the Eurolines name but for coaches to Europe you need Flixbus and whatever Oui Bus are calling themselves this week. Megabus is also getting back into the game and reintroducing services to Amsterdam. There is no ‘retail’ area at Victoria Coach. Current food and beverage options include a Starbucks and the little snack shop that has always been there down by Gate 13-20. Treats Cafe has gone along with Greggs and Burger King. The infamous toilets are still horrific but are free now at least.
