The hotel’s Kitchen & Bar Restaurant serves relatively healthy seasonal British and European-inspired fare in a modern environment that includes several quiet nooks where you can focus on getting some work done.
The rooftop garden terrace is one of the hotel’s highlights. This area is a wonderful spot to relax and take in lovely views of Oxford Castle and the historic city.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The hotel is located in a peninsula that sits between two branches of Castle Mill Stream just west of the city centre between the railway station and Oxford Castle. It is a peaceful setting that backs onto Castle Mill Stream and from here you can walk into the city centre in around five minutes and to the railway station in eight minutes.
Many of Oxford’s main points of interest are within walking distance including Oxford Castle (only a two-minute walk), Westgate shopping centre (a three-minute walk away), Modern Art Oxford and Carfax Tower (both a six-minute walk) and the Ashmolean Museum, which is a nine-minute walk from the hotel. Most of the attractions of the University of Oxford are also an easy walk from the hotel including the Bodleian Library, Radcliffe Camera, the Sheldonian Theatre and the University Church, which are all around a 10–12-minute walk from the hotel and most of the university colleges are no more than a 10–15-minute walk away.
When booking your hotel, it is important not to confuse the Courtyard by Marriott Oxford City Centre with the Courtyard by Marriott Oxford South hotel. While this hotel is located an easy walk from most of Oxford’s main attractions, the Courtyard by Marriott Oxford South is not even in Oxford but in Milton (between Abingdon and Didcot), around 18km (11 miles) south of Oxford.
