Harrogate lies on a regional rail line with a half-hourly rail service to Leeds and York via Knaresborough (with trains running every 15 minutes during peak hours) and there is also a daily direct train to London Kings Cross.

Most train services are provided by Northern Rail except for the LNER service to London Kings Cross.
