ibis Liverpool Centre Albert Dock

The ibis Liverpool Centre Albert Dock hotel is a good value accommodation option that is close to the attractions in the Albert Dock area and within easy walking distance to the city centre.

The 192-room hotel is a modern brick building and the rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom.

The hotel rooms are small, between 12m² (129sq ft) and 14m² (150sq ft) but they are well designed to make the most of the space. Guests have a choice of double, twin or family rooms and some of the rooms are adapted for wheelchair access.

Like many newer ibis hotels, there is a ground floor area where you will find the reception area as well as the hotel’s bar and restaurant. There is also a small outdoor area with picnic tables and market umbrellas, although the outlook from this area is less than inspiring as you’re looking out onto the hotel car park.

The in-house restaurant, Fogg’s, has an international menu and it is open throughout the day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel is just south of Liverpool city centre and it is only a five-minute walk to the Albert Dock area where you can find the Beatles Story, the Merseyside Maritime Museum, Tate Liverpool and the departure point for the Magical Mystery Tour and the National Trust tour of the Beatles’ childhood homes. It is also only a five-minute walk to the Liverpool One shopping centre and most other points of interest in the city centre are no more than a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

Most bus routes (including long-distance coaches) depart from the Liverpool One bus station, which is only a five-minute walk from the hotel. However, bus route 500, which goes to the airport, stops on Wapping right outside the hotel.

Parking is available at the hotel but it costs £10 per day.
