Holiday Inn Express Albert Dock

The hotel has 135 spacious guest rooms that include double, twin and family rooms. Rooms have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Some wheelchair accessible rooms are available.

Rooms are set over three floors and some of them have original features such as exposed bricks and metal girders, however, other areas of the hotel can feel a little dull and charmless.

The hotel also has a bar and lounge area where the buffet breakfast, which is included in your room rate, is served every morning. Although the bar is open in the evening, breakfast is the only meal that is served here. However, the central location means that there are plenty of other places to eat and drink nearby.

There is also an ironing room that guests can use (the rooms do not have their own ironing facilities) as well as a business centre with two meeting rooms.

There is free wired internet access in all rooms, but Wi-Fi wireless internet access is only free for IHG Rewards members. It is free to join the IHG loyalty programme and free Wi-Fi is available to all members, even those on the entry-level tier.

The hotel is part of Liverpool’s Unesco World Heritage-listed waterfront area. It has a great location within easy walking distance to all the attractions of the Albert Dock area including the Beatles Story, which is virtually next door, and the Merseyside Maritime Museum, Tate Liverpool, the Wheel of Liverpool and M&S Bank Arena which are all within a five-minute walk from the hotel. It is only a two-minute walk to the departure point for the Magical Mystery Tour and the National Trust tour of John Lennon and Paul McCartney’s childhood homes departs just a four-minute walk from the hotel.

It is only a 10-minute walk to the Liverpool waterfront, which includes the Museum of Liverpool, the Pier Head ferry terminal and the Three Graces and most points of interest in the city centre are between a 10- and a 25-minute walk from the hotel.

Liverpool’s main railway station is a 20-minute walk from the hotel, although it is less than a 10-minute walk to Liverpool One bus station, which has both local buses (including buses from the airport) and long-distance coaches to other destinations throughout the UK.
