The Leonardo Hotel at Heathrow Airport is a good accommodation option if you need somewhere to stay that is close to Terminals 2 and 3 at London Heathrow Airport.
The hotel was formerly known as the Holiday Inn Heathrow Airport Bath Road and was rebranded as the Leonardo Hotel London Heathrow Airport in 2015 (there is now a new Holiday Inn hotel just a couple of doors down the road).
The Leonardo Hotel is a large modern low-rise brick building with 230 air-conditioned guest rooms, which are around 22–23m² (237–247 sq ft). All the rooms have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. All rooms also have triple-glazed windows, which cut out most external traffic and aircraft noise.
The hotel’s executive rooms have larger beds plus premium television channels, a trouser press, a minibar, a complimentary newspaper and a bathrobe and slippers.
The reception area features prints of Leonardo da Vinci artworks lit by coloured lights, which gives it the feel of a tacky Italian restaurant. Fortunately, the decor inside the rooms and the hotel’s bar and restaurant is much nicer than the reception area.
There is also an on-site fitness centre and business facilities that include 11 meeting rooms.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Like most hotels near Heathrow Airport, the immediate neighbourhood is not particularly charming. It is on a busy road with lots of hotels and other airport-related businesses, however, there are a few places to eat nearby that aren’t hotel restaurants. These include a small Portuguese restaurant (a two-minute walk up Sipson Way), an Italian restaurant on Sipson Road (a six-minute walk from the hotel) and the Three Magpies pub, which is a five-minute walk away.
It is one of the closest hotels to Terminals 2 and 3 at Heathrow Airport, which are only a five-minute drive (or a 10-minute bus ride) from the hotel. Access to Terminals 2 and 3 is through a tunnel with no pedestrian access so you need to take a bus to get to the airport. Because of the way that the buses are routed, buses from the airport to the stop outside the hotel are more frequent (around one every three minutes) than buses from the hotel to the airport (once every eight minutes).
Secure undercover car parking is available at the hotel for £12 per day.
