Rooms at the Premier Inn London Docklands (Excel) feature a king-size Hypnos bed and a comfortable chair (twin rooms have a double or king-size bed and a chaise longue/sofa bed), a writing desk, a flat-screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. The bathroom has a bathtub with a showerhead above it rather than a proper walk-in shower.

The immediate neighbourhood feels barren and charmless with modern hotels surrounded by car parking; however, it is probably one of the better-located hotels near ExCeL as it is right next to the Fox @ Connaught pub, which is the only building in the area to have any character.

It is a five-minute walk from Prince Regent DLR station, which is around a 20-minute ride from The City with trains running every eight minutes or so.

It is free to park overnight at the hotel, however, there is a £12 per day charge if you use the car park between 9.30am and 5.30pm.

Premier Inn is the largest hotel chain in the United Kingdom and it usually scores very high on customer surveys when compared to other UK hotel chains. It operates at the budget end of the market and provides a reasonably high standard of accommodation for the price, and is comparable to ibis and Travelodge hotels.
