The Royal Hotel is a seaside hotel in Weston-super-Mare that dates from the Georgian era. It has a great location and it is close to the Italian Gardens, the Winter Garden and the Grand Pier.
The Royal Hotel is a Grade II listed hotel that was built around 1808 and enlarged in the middle of the 19th century. Although it originally dates from the Georgian period, a major renovation during the 1850s has left it with architectural features reminiscent of the Victorian era.
The hotel has 44 guest rooms, which all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Some of the rooms have sea views and others look out over the Italian Gardens.
The rooms have a traditional-style decor that some people find charming but others may find a little dated. Rooms vary quite a bit and include compact single rooms, double, twin and family rooms. The king-size rooms are probably the hotel’s nicest rooms.
There are a few places to eat and drink on-site including an outdoor snack bar that serves ice creams and fish and chips, a bar and The Royal Grill, a pub-style restaurant that serves burgers and steaks.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
The hotel has a great location in the town centre, immediately north of the Winter Gardens with the Italian Gardens (more a square than gardens) to the east and an expansive lawn separating the hotel from the seaside. From here, it is a five-minute walk to the Grand Pier or the Weston Museum, a seven-minute walk to the Lambretta Museum and a 13-minute walk to the railway station.
Free on-site parking is available for overnight guests.
