The York Hotel is a grand Victorian hotel that has been given a thorough £1 million renovation in 2009. It is a good value place to stay with a nice location by the seaside in Weston-super-Mare between the Winter Garden and the Grand Pier.
The hotel has 38 guest rooms, which all have comfortable beds, a flatscreen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Rooms include single, double and family rooms and they are relatively spacious; however, they can also appear a little dated when compared to many other hotels.
The hotel has its own bar and restaurant, and while the food won’t win it any awards, it is a great spot for a meal or a drink due to its position across the road from the beach and the Grand Pier. The menu consists of mostly British cuisine with some European dishes and the Sunday carvery is quite popular.
There is also a nice lounge bar with comfortable leather sofas as well as a nice outdoor terrace.
