Weston-super-Mare railway station is on the railway line connecting Bristol with Taunton and it also has some direct services to Birmingham, London and Manchester.
Most trains stopping at Weston-super-Mare are operated by GWR and include two trains per hour to Bristol and one train per hour continuing south to Bridgwater and Taunton. Weston-super-Mare is only half an hour from Bristol by rail and with two trains per hour, a lot of people in Weston commute into Bristol for work.
The railway station is a five-minute walk southeast of the town centre and a 12-minute walk from the Grand Pier.
The station was opened in 1884 and is a Grade II listed building. It has basic facilities including a ticket office and toilets. Step-free access is available to both platforms, although the Taunton-bound platform can only be accessed via a step bridge from the main station entrance so you’ll need to arrive via the Sunnyside Road entrance if you’re a wheelchair user taking a southbound service.
